Nourish a rhizomatic economy.

We cultivate rooted healing through the embodied understanding that our inner and outer landscapes heal in relationship with one another. True transformation requires us to tend to the root — the deeper causes of our wounds, both personal and collective — rather than simply addressing symptoms. This means engaging in healing that is relational, systemic and land-based, honouring the interwoven nature of our bodies, communities and ecosystems. We would love to welcome you into this work and ecosystem…

What we do

  • Our gatherings are rooted in the power of the ‘Original Village’, tending communal, relational healing, where personal insights blossom into collective transformation.

These experiences ignite transformation at the intersections of embodiment, ecology, spirituality and culture.

  • Our psychedelic retreats are rooted in deep ecology + transpersonal psychology to cultivate healing, connection, awe and creativity. Akin to our gatherings, our focus is personal and communal - where healing moves beyond the self into relational pathways of inner and outer tending.

These programmes are comprehensive and integrative, leading to long-term positive change.

  • Deepen Your Roots offers a profound year-long programme that reweaves people with place. We recognise that our lost sense of collective belonging is at the root of our polycrisis. This programme aims to help us all intimately re-inhabit place, combatting overwhelm, eco-anxiety and lostness in the process.

  • The Rooted Healing podcast is lovingly, independently produced and seeks to deepen our kinship with the living landscapes around us and within us, bringing us closer to the themes that help us heal, re-imagine and co-create the world we love to be alive in.

Our sprouting journal offers further inspiration.

And our free workshop in Embodied Deep Ecology has supported almost a thousand people to reconnect with themselves as woven ecological beings, interdependent with the land.

  • We are committed to enriching understanding of psilocybin ceremonies and ancestral approaches to healing individual, collective and ecological landscapes. Through our own endorsed research, collaborations with leading universities and our contributions to kindred research projects, we explore Earth-Centred Consciousness, animism, deep ecology, ceremony and ritual adaptations, integration and long-term impacts beyond individual therapeutic models. This work seeks to inspire new approaches to mental health, spirituality and ecological awareness, enriching psychedelic research with meaningful cultural context.

  • Ancient woodland, wildflower meadows and endangered species are sponsored with the future forest company every time you join us at a gathering or on a course.

We are also committed to enriching the biodiversity of the lands we dwell in, regularly planting trees and diversifying meadows and woodland.

Why we do it

  • Anyone with their eyes open can see and feel the social injustices, environmental despair and the human mental and physical health crisis. We cannot continue to exist in a state of ‘half life’ that surmises us to continue along a treadmill serving a system of wealth that only places perpetual capital growth as priority. The collective suffering of our sentient earth body requires radical communal healing through transformed worldviews and remembrance.

At the root of this amnesia, suffering and bewilderment lies our abandoned need for deep connection and belonging. It is from this void that the relentless hunger for something to fill our lives, whether through career, consumerism or addiction, can leave us living inauthentically.

Joanna Macy has called this crumbling of systems the ‘great unravelling’… so our work feeds the ‘great turning’…

  • Our ancestral immersions and other gatherings ignite embodied intimacy with more indigenous ways of being with the land and each other, weaving together ancient wisdom, bone-deep nourishment, ancestral crafts, roundhouse councils and collective rest—all radical acts of rebellion against modernity.

We call this the great remembering - where we embody the ancient human blueprint of belonging so deeply, that our life - and therefor our web of relations - changes, heals and evolves.

We have experienced and witnessed the profound, life-affirming power of gathering together and immersing in embodied practices that reconnect us to our deepest, most alive sense of existence. A big part of this remembrance involves reconnecting to a feminine, cyclical approach to life that places rest, play and conscious action back into their needed equilibrium.

  • The Great Turning is the story we hear from those who do not want the great unravelling to determine our future. It emerges in an abundant array of human responses to the crises of our times.

We cannot escape the other stories; this is the woven world we find ourselves in, yet we believe that in tending to seeds of hope, we can bring about a movement of real, embodied change. Active Hope is the creation and inhabiting of what it is that we hope for, right here and now, and realising that a more beautiful world is in the hands of all of us.

How we do it

  • At the heart of true healing — whether personal, collective or ecological — is the need to go to the root. Without addressing the deeper causes of our wounds, we end up treating symptoms, perpetuating cycles of disconnection and failing to create lasting change. This is as true for the land as it is for the body, the psyche and the social structures we live within.

When we speak of healing, we are speaking of restoration, remembrance and regeneration. To heal is to return to wholeness, not by erasing wounds, but by tending to them with reverence, curiosity and care. This requires us to go beyond surface-level fixes and into the heart of the matter — to ask: What are the deeper patterns at play? Where have we become uprooted? How do we restore our sense of belonging, within ourselves and within the greater web of life?

From an ecological perspective, we see how attempts to “fix” environmental crises without addressing their root causes — such as extractive economic systems, the severance of humans from the more-than-human world, and the loss of intergenerational ecological wisdom — only lead to further harm. In the same way, when we attempt to heal personal or societal trauma without acknowledging the systemic conditions that gave rise to it, we risk perpetuating the very pain we seek to resolve.

  • At Rooted Healing, the ethos is clear: true transformation requires depth, devotion and a willingness to engage in the unseen, often uncomfortable, layers of healing. Whether through ceremony, ritual, communal practices or embodied practice, the work is about reconnection — to self, to others, to land, and to the mystery that underpins all of life. These our ancestral ways, woven with landscape.

Healing is not an individual pursuit; it is deeply relational. As we re-root ourselves in reciprocal relationships — with the earth, with ancestral wisdom, with one another— we begin to shift the very foundations of how we live. This is the essence of tending to the root: cultivating the fertile ground from which new ways of being can emerge, not just for personal wellbeing, but for the collective flourishing of all life.

  • Healing at the root also means returning to the body as a landscape of knowing, transformation and reconnection. Our bodies carry the imprints of our histories — personal, ancestral and collective. Through somatic practices, we learn to listen to the wisdom held within our physiology, to release stored trauma, and to reawaken a felt sense of belonging. Embodiment is also our capacity to be present, to relate authentically and to move in rhythm with the greater intelligence of life. In this way, somatic practice becomes a bridge — helping us integrate what we know intellectually into something lived, felt and enacted in the world.

  • We recognise that true transformation must be land-based— rooted in deep ecology, local knowledge and community. Healing cannot exist in abstraction; it must be woven into the landscapes we inhabit, informed by the rhythms, stories, and wisdom of place. The disconnection from land is at the heart of so much suffering, severing us from the very relationships that sustain life. Real, lasting change arises when we re-engage with the living world not as a resource, but as kin — when we restore reciprocal ways of being that honour the ecological, cultural and spiritual tapestries of our bioregions. By tending to the land, we tend to ourselves. By rebuilding community, we rebuild the conditions for collective healing. This is how we root the work — through deep ecology not as an idea, but as a lived practice of belonging.
